# Customising Your Brand

> Make Surfacd your own with custom colours, logos, team branding, and your own domain.

Surfacd is designed to feel like an extension of your brand. Whether you're sharing dashboards with stakeholders or presenting reports to leadership, a branded experience builds trust and professionalism.

## Team Name

Your team name appears throughout the application — in navigation, headers, and on login screens. Choose a name that represents your organisation or department.

To update: **Settings** → **General** → **Team Name**

## Colour Palette

Choose a primary colour palette that matches your brand identity. This colour is applied to buttons, links, charts, and accents across the entire platform.

**Available palettes:**

Blue, Indigo, Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Teal, and Slate.

To update: **Settings** → **General** → **Primary Colour**

Your selected palette applies to all charts, graphs, and data visualisations, ensuring consistent branding across every report and export.

## Logo

Upload your company logo to replace the default branding in the header and on login screens. When stakeholders access your dashboards or shared reports, they'll see your logo — not ours.

* **Supported formats:** PNG, SVG, JPEG
* **Maximum file size:** 512KB
* **Recommendation:** Use a horizontal/landscape logo for best results in the header

To update: **Settings** → **General** → **Logo**

## Icon

Upload a small icon (typically your favicon or logo mark) for the browser tab and navigation. This provides a polished, branded experience even at small sizes.

* **Supported formats:** PNG, SVG, JPEG, ICO
* **Maximum file size:** 512KB
* **Recommendation:** Use a square image (e.g., 512×512px) for consistent display

To update: **Settings** → **General** → **Icon**

## Custom Domain

Take branding a step further by accessing Surfacd on your own domain. Instead of using a Surfacd URL, your team can access the platform at an address you control:

* `insights.yourcompany.com`
* `ai-analytics.yourcompany.com`
* `visibility.yourcompany.com`

This is particularly valuable when:

* **Sharing with stakeholders** who expect tools to live under your company's domain
* **Embedding in your workflow** alongside other internal tools
* **Maintaining brand consistency** across your entire toolset

### Setting Up a Custom Domain

1. **Choose a subdomain** on your company's domain (e.g., `insights.yourcompany.com`)
2. **Contact your Surfacd account manager** to register the domain
3. **Add a CNAME record** in your DNS settings pointing your subdomain to Surfacd
4. **Wait for verification** — SSL certificates are provisioned automatically
5. **Access your platform** at your new branded URL

Your existing Surfacd URL continues to work alongside your custom domain, automatically redirecting team members to your branded URL.

For detailed setup instructions, DNS configuration for specific providers, and troubleshooting, see [Custom Domains](/docs/custom-domains).

<Warning>
  Custom domains must use a subdomain (e.g., `insights.yourcompany.com`). Root domains are not supported.
</Warning>

## Default Country

Set a default country for your team. This pre-selects the country when team members create new projects, saving time and ensuring consistency across your organisation.

To update: **Settings** → **General** → **Default Country**

## Bringing It All Together

When fully configured, your Surfacd experience includes:

* Your **logo** in the header and login screens
* Your **icon** in browser tabs
* Your **colour palette** across all buttons, charts, and accents
* Your **team name** in navigation
* Your **custom domain** in the browser address bar
* Your **default country** pre-selected for new projects

The result is a platform that looks and feels like it was built for your organisation — perfect for client presentations, stakeholder dashboards, and internal reporting.

    If you regularly share your screen during meetings or presentations, branded colours and your logo make a significant impression. Take two minutes to set these up before your next review.
