# Competitor Reputation

> Benchmark your sentiment and reach against competitors, theme by theme.

Every brand mentioned in your collected responses is analysed and scored the same way as yours, so you can benchmark reputation directly. The aim isn't just to win the mention, it's to win the sentiment too.

## Choosing Brands to Compare

The **Comparing** bar at the top holds your comparison set. The brand selected in the filter bar is always included; click **Add Brand** to add others, up to ten in total. Use the toggle to switch between the **Overview** and **Side-by-Side** layouts.

## Visibility vs. Sentiment

A scatter chart placing each brand by reach (% of responses mentioning it) and tone (sentiment score), with a tail showing how it moved since the previous period. The four quadrants tell you where each brand stands:

| Quadrant | Meaning |
| ------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Strong reputation | Widely mentioned and well regarded |
| Visible, weaker sentiment | Mentioned often, but the tone needs work |
| Liked, less visible | Well regarded but not reaching enough answers |
| Out of the conversation | Rarely mentioned and not well regarded |

## Brand Overview

A league table ranking every compared brand by sentiment score, with % of responses alongside. Both columns carry trend indicators, so you can see who's gaining and who's slipping.

## Theme Comparison

The same theme matrix as [Reputation Insights](/docs/reputation-insights), but with brands as columns instead of platforms. It shows how each brand stands per theme, which is where competitive gaps get specific: you might lead overall but trail a rival on Pricing.

## Side-by-Side

The same data laid out as one profile per brand, useful for a direct one-to-one comparison or for screenshots in a competitive report.

## What to Look For

* **Your quadrant and direction** - the movement tail matters more than the position; heading towards "strong reputation" beats sitting still in it
* **Themes where a competitor leads** - read their narratives on that theme to understand the story AI tells about them and why it lands
* **Rivals in "liked, less visible"** - a well-regarded competitor gaining visibility is the one to watch
